Business Announcement...
Hi Everyone!
Well, as most of you know, I will be getting married soon! November 14, to be exact. Steve and I are very excited and looking forward to the upcoming date!
Business has been so great and I'm so fortunate for each and every one of my customers. When I started this blog months ago, I never knew how much business it would actually bring me. Needless to say, I've been working nonstop ever since. I have big dreams for Designs by Lesa and plan on carrying those dreams out. Things have been so busy since I got engaged and started my own business all the same time, but definitely a good busy. I have had so much fun growing and learning each order. I look forward to so much more!
That being said, I am so sad to say that from now until November 25, I will no longer be taking any new orders. I have some ongoing orders right now that will be keeping me busy until the wedding, plus some wedding details to cover, of course. I'm so sorry to all of my loyal customers and hope that each of you will still consider me in the future. I have loved working with all of you. Thanks everyone for your support and especially for telling all of your friends about me as well!
Just remember... this is ONLY until November 25! I will be back full force, following the wedding/honeymoon.
Thanks again, everyone!

Wedding Invitation Set
I did this wedding invitation set for a couple getting married in December. She wanted a Christmas/holiday theme, so I created a logo for them and used it throughout the set. The RSVP card will be a postcard. This is a great way to save paper and money.
For those out there looking for wedding invitations, I custom create to your specifications. I can do traditional or nontraditional. It's all about what YOU want for your special day!
Need programs created too? I can do that as well. =)

Moving Annoucement
I did this fun announcement for a friend I went to summer camp with for many summers as a child! I was so honored she asked me to create something for her. She has a blog called the Daily Ann-tidote.
Everyone should check it out. After you read it, you'll understand why I chose the shoe theme for her moving announcement.

Engagement Pictures
A few weeks ago, Steve and I went down to my family camp/farm to have our engagement pictures taken. It was so much fun! Most of you know this, but Steve and I met at camp, so taking our pictures there was extra special to us. The amazing Shawn Hodges took them. We are so thankful for her amazing work. She captured it all so perfectly.
Here is a link to the "sneak peak" she posted on her blog.
Enjoy!

To make a short story, long...
I grew up in a town where creativity is a must in order to keep busy. Henderson, Texas isn't your typical town of attractions. Whether I was building a fort outside with imaginary elevators or pretending to be a mermaid in my swimming pool, I truly had a mind of my own. Having two older sisters, who were too old to play with me, might have had something to do with it too. My mom gets credit as well. She's an amazing artist. I used to steal her old sketchbooks and draw all over the pages. I probably ruined them, but I wanted to be just as good as her.
Fast forward to 2009. I have now graduated from TCU and have held two jobs since then. Both gave me opportunities to explore my creative side and for that I am thankful. I left the first job in order to get closer to my first love, invitation design. The new job didn't give me much opportunity to design, but I was learning a lot about another important technique, typesetting. Unfortunately, that job was short lived. I was laid off in October, due to the bad economy. On the day I left that company, the CFO said to me, "We don't sell food." He was right. Invitations are not essential to our lives, but I can't just walk away from something I love so much. As heartbroken as I was to leave that job, I know God has a plan for me. Continuing on as a Typesetter just wasn't it.
The week I was laid off, my parents were gracious enough to buy me a brand new iMac with all the design programs I need to continue exploring my passion. I think they believe in me and that's an amazing feeling. I do not have another steady paying job. But, I do have a job, and that is to learn anything and everything about this passion of mine; to explore the creativity I have to offer. And along the way, hopefully people will see how important it is to me.
I hope you will take a few seconds to look at some of my work and the different projects I have been working on. And, if you like my work and need invitations, announcements, or stationery, shoot me an email. I'd love to create a special card just for you! If you're still not convinced, all I can ask is that you at least take a chance on me. I will do my best to make you a happy customer!
